Privacy policy
This policy explains what Our Elected USA collects, why it is used, when it may be shared, and the choices available to readers and account holders.
Information we process
We process public records obtained from identified government sources. Public records can still contain information about people or organizations, so publication decisions follow our methodology, editorial standards, and correction process.
If you create an account or contact us, we may process your email address, profile settings, messages, authentication state, subscription status, and the information you choose to provide. We also process limited security and operational information such as request time, IP address, browser or device information, security events, rate-limit events, and audit records needed to operate and protect the service.
How we use information
We use information to provide accounts and requested features, answer messages, synchronize and verify public data, process subscriptions, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, protect the integrity of published information, and meet applicable legal obligations. We do not sell account contact information.
On the canonical production site, we collect first-party page-performance measurements for broad route groups and mobile or desktop display classes. The measurement request omits credentials, and the performance record contains only the metric name and value, broad route group, display class, server receipt time, and—when available—deployment revision. It does not contain a page URL, search term, article or entity slug, account identifier, metric identifier, or advertising identifier.
Cookies and local storage
Essential cookies may be used for authentication, session continuity, security, fraud prevention, and saved choices. CAPTCHA, payment, hosting, and authentication providers may process technical information when their features are used. The privacy and legal pages do not load the Google AdSense tag. On a qualifying report, the tag loads only when the production consent-test or serving gate is explicitly enabled.
Advertising and Google services
If advertising is activated, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, local storage, IP addresses, page URLs, device information, and ad-interaction data to deliver, measure, personalize, and protect advertising. Google explains this processing in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and its Business Data Responsibility materials.
Before Google advertising is enabled, we publish the applicable authorized-seller record and activate a Google-certified consent management platform for visitors in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland. Where required, advertising storage and personalization remain disabled until the visitor makes a choice. Google's current Transparency and Consent Framework integration is verified before the serving switch can be enabled.
Service providers and sharing
Infrastructure, authentication, database, email, CAPTCHA, rate-limiting, payment, and—if activated—advertising providers may process information on our behalf or under their own published terms. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards.
Retention and security
We retain information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including security, accounting, dispute, and legal requirements. Account-deletion tools remove covered account and user-owned storage data through a retryable deletion process; some audit, transaction, legal, or public-record information may need to be retained. We use access controls, encryption where appropriate, logging, and other safeguards, but no internet service can promise absolute security.
Your choices
You may request access, export, correction, or deletion of applicable account data through available account controls or by emailing hello@ourelectedusa.com. When the Google consent message is active, it provides controls to accept, reject, or manage eligible advertising choices. The Privacy choices link in the footer reopens the ready consent manager while it is available; otherwise it returns here. Browser and Google ad settings may provide additional controls.
Children
The service is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. Do not submit a child's personal information through the service.
Changes and contact
We will update the date above when this policy materially changes. Questions about this policy may be sent to hello@ourelectedusa.com.
